5 Festive Recipes For The Holidays At Home

Another good thing cancelled – this time Good Friday (and Family Day on Monday). Whether you’re shacked up alone, with roommates, or a houseplant you never named until now, here are some things you can make to brighten up this pandemic-themed staycation.

Let’s be truthful. There’s no point in pretending things are fine and normal right now – they’re not, the world is in crisis. Acknowledging and “sitting with” that reality is okay, we don’t have to be 100% right now. Adapting and adjusting to this strange new normal as best we can, is the only option we’re left with.

We wanted to share a few recipes with you for the long weekend ahead. Cooking something mindfully, whether for yourself or someone else, might offer you some sweet relief.

Nachos!

Nachos feel celebratory no matter where you are, and they’re easy and versatile. Here’s a recipe on Cookie + Kate: Loaded Veggie Nachos.

Homemade hot cross buns are easier than you think…

Learn how to make soft and flavorful hot cross buns using this deliciously spiced yeast dough. Recipe on Sally’s Baking Addiction.

Easter Bread!

“In Italy, bakers whip up a corona pasquale around Easter – a bread ring studded with colored eggs. In Greece, the dyed eggs are nestled into a plaited bread. But you don’t need to be in Europe to enjoy them!” Hannah Lewry shares the recipe on taste.co.za.

Flourless Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Flourless double chocolate oatmeal cookies that are soft, chewy, loaded with chocolate, and super easy to make with only one bowl and a handful of simple ingredients! Get the recipe here on Running With Spoons.

Feel better Chicken and Rice Soup

A healing broth, but make it festive. As the nights turn cooler here in the Southern Hemisphere, this might be a good meal to batch cook on Sunday and enjoy for a weeknight dinner or two next week. Recipe from Bon Appétit.

Happy easter eating and resting. Let us know if you make any of these recipes and what you think!
