Our Scientific Approach Is Based On 3 Key Principles

Stat background
Systems Approach
Our bodies are complex. 3X4 looks at how our genes work together in cellular pathways and functional systems to control processes such as inflammation, metabolism, and detoxification.

Going Upstream
Traditionally, we have spent far too much time focusing on trying to fix symptoms. At 3X4, we want to change this by understanding what’s happening at a deep cellular level so we can prevent, delay, or reverse disease.

Sustainable Change
We believe that health is not a static condition, but a daily choice. Using 3X4 Health and the guidance of an expert practitioner you can gain a deeper understanding of your body and the daily choices you need to make.

Nutrigenetics can be likened to a complex puzzle, with each missing piece contributing to the personalized completion of one's genetic blueprint.

The essence of genetics centers around our DNA code, which serves as a fundamental blueprint. Epigenetics, on the other hand, pertains to the life choices influencing the DNA code and gene expression. It is essential to integrate both elements, as isolating one undermines our ability to impact patient outcomes effectively. Our genes operate within pathways and engage in both metabolic and biochemical processes. By looking at our genes in a pathway-focused way, it enhances the precision of our recommendations.

At 3X4 we are able to create a user interface both for the practitioner and for the client that really will drive an interactive relationship with our genetic information that will motivate change.

A challenge facing Western medicine and nutrition is the emphasis on diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. This attitude overlooks the gradual development of these conditions over time. These diseases are influenced by complex interactions with our environment, encompassing our genetics, diet, and lifestyle choices.

Consider the strategy of redirecting attention from the disease to its origins. By examining your cells, understanding suboptimal conditions, and taking corrective measures, you can prevent the progression of certain diseases and improve your longevity. With everything that’s available to patients, they are often overwhelmed by recommendations, supplements, and diets that are not personalized to them. Through the use of 3X4, we can condense this information into clear, concise, and actionable steps to enable meaningful changes in your life that yield the most significant positive impact on your health journey.

What Makes Us Different?

1

Science You Can Trust:

The 3X4 Health app focuses on the genes with the greatest potential to influence your health and includes the genes that have undergone vigorous examination for both scientific validity and clinical utility. Using a proprietary independent machine learning algorithm, dubbed Darwin, your genetic results are scrutinized and scored for inclusion based on their biochemical impact and their potential to carry potential consequences. Therefore, only the genes with the highest lifestyle intervention implications make it through to the results.

2

Pathway-based Analysis:

The highest-scoring genes selected by the independent Darwin methodology are considered in the context of their combined effect: How they may interact with each other to impact overall health. This level of sophistication by applying systems biology to genetic data is what sets us apart, and why forward-thinking healthcare practitioners trust 3X4 Genetics as their preferred genetic testing partner.

3

Built by Scientists:

3X4’s Founder and CSO, Dr. Yael Joffe, PhD, has been utilising her industry experience in building clinically relevant nutrigenomic products for over two decades. Today, she is acknowledged internationally as an expert in the field of nutrigenomics and works with an all-star team of scientists from around the world to improve and refine the genetic testing process, and display your results accurately with the 3X4 Health app.

Founder and Chief Science Officer

In 2018, Dr. Yael Joffe founded 3X4 Genetics and now serves as its Chief Science Officer. Yael brings over 20 years of experience in nutrition, genetics, sound research, clinical practice and scientific integrity to 3X4.

Yael is globally acknowledged as a leading expert in the field of nutrigenomics. In 2000, she was part of the team that built the first lifestyle genetics test, and since then has been responsible for the building of many others. She is the author of four books: The Power of Genetics, It’s Not Just Your Genes, Genes to Plate, and SNP Journal. Yael has been published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals, hosts the Power of Genetics podcast, and is a highly regarded speaker in genetics.

Yael built the first online nutrigenomics platform providing education to clinicians and has developed and supervised genomics courses around the world. She has trained thousands of healthcare practitioners globally, also teaching at Rutgers University and the Maryland University of Integrative Health.

It’s Not About Patching Symptoms, It’s About Understanding the Root Cause

Your genes don’t work in isolation – they work with each other and the body’s environment. What we eat, how we move, our stress levels, and our emotional lives affect how our genes behave. Understanding our individual genetics can guide us to make health choices that help us to live happier, longer, and better.

The science behind 3X4 is based on extensive research, combined with clinical practice to ensure that every recommendation we make is both scientifically accurate and proven to work in clinical practice.
